Influence

(noun) – the power to affect the way someone or something develops, behaves, or thinks without using direct force or orders.  Example: The Council had influence over many government decisions / Gayle’s mother said I was a bad influence on her daughter.

(verb) – to affect the way someone or something develops, behaves, thinks etc without directly forcing or ordering them. Example: Several factors are likely to influence this decision.

Did you know…? The word ‘influence’ was in the Oxford Dictionary’s top 150 most-viewed words last year.
